22 people walked into a healthcare centre in Gnangiriswaran Pettai with one simple goal: to take a proactive step towards their health.
At the Project Sunkalp cancer screening camp held at the Government Primary Health Centre, Gnangiriswaran Pettai, Madurantakam, we screened both men and women from the local community:
11 clinical breast examinations
21 oral cancer examinations
The participation was equally shared, with 11 men and 11 women taking part in the screening.
Cancer does not always come with warning signs. Regular screening and early detection can help identify cancer or suspicious changes before symptoms become serious, giving people a better chance of receiving timely treatment.
Bringing screening services to a Government Primary Health Centre makes preventive healthcare more accessible to the surrounding community. People should not have to travel long distances or wait for symptoms to appear before taking care of their health.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to take cancer awareness and early detection services closer to communities across Madurantakam. Each camp helps create awareness, encourages timely screening, and strengthens the culture of preventive healthcare.
